A job board for the people who live and work in Catawba County.

Catawba Works collects the jobs that are open right now at local employers in Hickory, Newton, Conover, Maiden, Claremont, and the rest of Catawba County, North Carolina, and puts them on one page. It’s free, it doesn’t need an account, and it’s not affiliated with any employer.

How applying works

Every job links to its posting: usually the employer’s own site, or for jobs from Adzuna, Adzuna’s link to the posting. You apply there, with the employer. Catawba Works never collects applications, résumés, or contact details from job seekers.

Where the listings come from

Listings come from local employers’ career pages, including ones that publish structured job data, and from the applicant-tracking systems those employers use. We also list jobs from Adzuna, a job search engine, through its official API; those are marked “Jobs by Adzuna” and their Apply button opens through Adzuna’s link to the posting. We check every source daily and take a job down once it’s no longer listed, usually within a couple of days. We don’t copy listings from Indeed or LinkedIn, we don’t fetch anything behind a login, and duplicates are merged.

Public-sector jobs

Some public employers post on job sites that don’t allow outside crawlers, so their jobs aren’t listed here. You can find them on their own pages:

For employers

If your jobs are on your careers site or a standard applicant-tracking system, they may already be here, linking applicants back to you. You can also post a job directly or claim your employer page to add a description and see how your listings perform. Posting is free during launch.

Our crawler

Our crawler identifies itself as CatawbaWorksBot/1.0 (+https://www.catawbaworks.com/about) and respects robots.txt. It fetches a small number of pages per employer, per day, from public career pages only.
